Field school

The field schools aim to introduce the techniques of observation, quantification and monitoring of the various terms of the hydrological balance in the Sahelian and Sudanese zones through active teaching. AMMA-CATCH researchers participate and support field schools.

  • The field school "Observe the water balance of the critical zone ", set up in 2021 jointly by the International Joint Laboratory LMI REZOC and the African Center of Excellence C2EA. It is intended for M2 level students from the National Water Institute of Benin. It is a integrating knowledge project .
  • The HYDRUS field school, set up in 2013 by the LMI Picass’Eau, was intended for M1 and M2 students or for the continuing training of African engineers and research professors. Based in Djougou, the school and its practical work are based on the hydrological instrumentation deployed by the Amma-Catch hydrometeorological observatory in the upper Ouémé valley.
